The Manhattan Area Amateur Radio Society meeting for 13 May 2022. The meeting was called to order at 1835 hrs. with 12 members present. Old business.
Robert Oberle KI5FFE gave us a report on field day. He has secured the shelter ManKan shelter. It was available for $25 a day. At the club it was motioned and seconded to reimburse Robert for the expense. Power and light will be available at the shelter. As a reminder field day is June 25 and 26. New business.
Jim Foster KS0VO reminded everyone that the next test session will be June 11 held at the public library.
It was brought to the attention of the membership at the meeting that we are actively seeking a new secretary. Jim Foster volunteered and was elected new secretary.
Mike Teopffer AE0PT brought up discussion on creating an honorary life membership. As noted there is nothing currently in the bylaws for this. The question was raised should we create an honorary life membership, Mike volunteered to create the description for this designation, and Jim Foster will check the Constitution and set up some verbiage for this to be brought up again at the next meeting. At 1905 hrs. it was motioned and seconded for the meeting to be adjourned. Roll call
