February Meeting Minutes – Gordon Terry, N0GH

• Dr Calhoun, W0PBV, gave another excellent “Hamming it up” presentation on resonance in circuits. Another presentation in this series on electricity is planned for our next meeting in March. • The idea was brought up of potentially holding meetings in Wamego every other month, as several club members live there. More discussion on this idea will continue in future meetings and on the google listserve.

• Although attendance has been light, we plan to still have “eating meetings” two hours before the regular meeting time at Sirloin Stockade for anyone who wishes to participate. • Mark, KC0QAS, has set up a “team store” with GTM Sportswear where it is possible to order MAARS Club T-shirts & polos. They are priced at $1 above cost with this extra money going to help fund the club: http://teamstore.gtmsportswear.com/maars!

• There is some interest in holding a testing session in the upcoming months. Anyone who is considering getting their license or serving as a Volunteer Examiner is welcome to give their input. • Jim, KD0NQQ, noticed that the club bylaws still technically require a mailed monthly newsletter. As this was written prior to the advent of the internet, we may discuss changing this to allow for electronic newsletters in upcoming meetings.

• Simple meeting minutes in PDF will continue to be posted, but a nicer newsletter-style format will be drawn up by Jim for sharing on the MAARS website. Anyone who’d like a copy of past meeting minutes can email Gordon at NG0H@me.com!

We had a total of 7 attendees at the February meeting.
