The short version: this site does not publish members’ personal information, and it does not track you.
What is not published
- Members’ home addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses.
- The membership roster.
- Storm-spotter observer post locations.
- Officers’ personal contact details. Offices are listed by role.
- Memorial text for Silent Keys.
The Society holds membership records because it has to — membership begins when the Treasurer receives your dues — but those records live in the Society’s own files and are not part of this website.
What this site collects
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no third-party fonts or scripts loaded from anyone else’s server. The site sets only the cookies WordPress itself needs, and only if you log in to edit it. Nothing is fetched from a content delivery network, which means no third party is told that you visited.
If your details are on here
They should not be. Say so on the reflector or at a meeting and they will be removed. The tooling that generates content from the Society’s own archive strips email addresses, telephone numbers and street addresses by default, and has to be overridden with two separate command-line flags to do anything else.
